Brand: Soar NYC Tempo Run

In August of 2023, a few friends got together for a tempo run through lower Manhattan. Clad in Soar Running performance-wear, this small crew did what they do just about every week of the year - ran through traffic and pushed each other to go faster.

We all wanted this shoot to take place in the dark, so we idled for a bit to wait for the sun to go down.

Not really knowing when the sun would completely go down, we said screw it and started running.

For me, shooting night running can provide incredible moments. The energy of the city is always there.

From Chinatown we made our way to the water. For anyone who has raced OSR, this backdrop is familiar. Normally I hate constriction but it provided some nice light for this one.

From there we made our way up to East Broadway, one of my favorite streets to run and shoot. The five points, which is in the Gangs of New York, is here. You pass history in NYC every step.

Occasionally we stopped at stop lights.

There’s traffic in NYC.

Every day, of every week, Nick puts in the work to make himself a running machine.

In case you are wondering, no I did not run and shoot this. I was capturing off a bike.

Vibes

Soar kits always pop.

Huge shoutout to Lauren Nemeroff for assisting with this shoot and to Soar for the creative collaboration.
